Special Objects

Due to reusability special objects allow great increases in efficiency during production.

Inhalt:

  • Newsticker
    jQuery based news ticker. Display a scrolling list of date / tiltle pairs incl. link. Single items are modelled as ZMS link elements. Scrolling speed can be varied.
  • Mailing List
    The special object Mailing List embeds the ZOPE product Mailboxer into ZMS templates. Moderators administer their mailing lists through the ZMS interface. E-mail communication threads can be displayed on web-pages. This special object helps especially learning and expert groups. It makes the management of group interaction convenient and efficient.
  • ZMS Double Opt-In HTML Newsletter 3.0
    This Newsletter allows for sending HTML email newsletters to subscribers, that have applied for subscription using the double opt in method. It contains a dictionary for all language specific interface terms, such that the object can be used in multi-language sites.
  • ZMS Newsletter 2.0
    The ZMS Newsletter has been designed for small subscriber groups to which one can send synchronously (as BCC) the content of the special document 'Newsletter' with a Zope-generated mail sequence; at the same time this newsletter can be visible at the homepage as a common (special) document resp. can be archived.
  • Image Fader for Teaser
    Teaser element cross-fades three different images. For this each image can be attached with an own link.
  • Hot-spot for Images
    Example of a special object with an own complex management interface. In the management interface one can click directly on an image and so determine the coordinates at which a red marker is displayed. The methods manage_main and manage_edit overlay the ZMS default display of the management interface.
  • Teaser Elements in Special Objects
    specTeaser.xml is an XML import file for a special teaser object that can be instanced in a teaser container. specPageWithTeaser.xml is a special page object that instances a standard teaser container; in this teaser collection any teaser elements can be entered.
  • Special Object "Video Selection"
    This special object enables to integrate streaming videos selectively in Windows-, Real- or Quicktime format. The videos are displayed optionally in the Browser window or in the corresponding player. In the range of the actual selection a preview image or placeholder can be inserted. (Note: The zipped version includes three icons that must be stored at the corresponding place in the directory "common".)
  • Special Object for embedding a Flash-Movie
    The special object allows the publication of a Macromedia Flash animation and of an analog image with description. If no Flash Plugin version newer than 4.0.2 is installed on the targeted computer, the image element will be displayed. If the option "Open in a new window" is selected, first the image will appear on the page, then the Flash animation will start per mouse click in a new fitting window.
  • Special Object for embedding a QuickTime movie
    The special object allows the publication of a QuickTime movie and of an analogue image with title/description. If the QuickTime Plugin is not installed on the targeted computer, the image element will be displayed. It is allowed to enter the QuickTime parameter LOOP, CONTROLLER and AUTOPLAY. If the option "Open in a new window is selected", first the image will appear on the page, then the QuickTime movie will start after mouse click in a new fitting window.
  • Special Object for embedding a Shockwave asset
    The special object allows the publication of a Macromedia Shockwave animation and an analogue image with title/description. Requests the Shockwave Plugin Version 8.5.1 or higher, instruction and link for it are integrated. If the option "Open in a new window" is selected, first the image appears at the page, then the Shockwave animation starts per mouse click in a new fitting window.
  • News for Popup
    The Popup of News spares the reader to permanently browse in the display (see www.infosion.de/neues)
  • News list
    Hierarchically organised news container allowing three kinds of presentation: 1. overview (TOC), 2. news item and 3. all items
  • Contact Form
    Special object for a simple request form with which the website user can order his contact dates and a service demand per selection. The form generates an e-mail to the specific staffer.
  • Kform - Contact Form
    Kform is a simply structured special object interacting via a set of DTML methods resp. a Python script with the formulator product and integrating its interfaces in an easy manner into the ZMS content stream.
  • Service Form for Contact and Order
    The special object serviceForm combines two functions: 1. a list of services/products can be entered into the field "topics" and by this an order list can be generated. 2. waiving the list the object can be inserted as simple contact form. The object can send an e-mail to a specified address via the form action.
  • Quoting Programming Code
    Programming code shall be displayed in a special text element; since simple HTML/CSS formatting is not sufficient to display HTML/code elements/entities it is fallen back on ZOPE rendering with correspondent attributes of the var-tag.
  • Special Object for Integration of the WYSIWYG Editor EPOZ
    Besides the by default available MS-DHTML editing component for 'Rich Editing' more WYSIWYG editors can be integrated in ZMS. The existing special object allows the seamless integration of the new WYSIWYG editor EPOZ by M. Jablonski (Uni Bielefeld) in the ZMS management interface.
  • Catalogue-like display of a chart presentation resp. slide series
    The special object can split the upload-File in preview images (gif/jpg/png) and the actual binary chartfile containing the charts e.g. in form of a PPT-file. The preview images must be put out in advance with the chart programme in an adequate small size as Batch. The images generate in each case one instance of the repetition element "preview" of which at a time two are listed side by side in the kind of a slide box. The upload file is deleted with each renewal of chartfile and preview.
  • Showing documents in the frameset
    To equip PDF documents or external referenced documents with the local navigation the use of a special object is recommended that generates a frameset with consistent navigation.
  • Poll Object
    The poll object allows to create online surveys resp. polls easily. It is about a poll container providing the presentation and logic as well as a poll item modelling the selection options as a repetition element. On the basis of cookies the object is able to prevent multiple votings and can be set in a closed state explicitly.
  • Glossary displayed as a Data Table
    The Glossary object consist of two special objects: the glossary container providing the presentation and the data table glossaryItems containing the structured contents.
  • Calendar
    The ZMS Calendar is based on two special objects: the calendar container includes the presentation resp. the logic, the calendar items are a data table. (The calendar is also located in the ZMS distribution under $ZMS_HOME/import/.)
  • Guestbook
    The Guestbook consists of two objects: guestbook container and guestbook item.
  • Infobox in the Content Area
    With the Infobox file objects and links to internal or external sites can be displayed directly in the content stream. The object represents a user-defined sequence of files, links and text sections. For the link rendering the objects owns a separate DTML method which is able to differentiate for multisites not only external/internal but also intra/extra clients.
  • Ticker
    Generates a frame with a persistent link list
  • Dialogue Window exemplified by a Thesaurus
    The object example presented here is a default from the ZMS distribution; it illustrates the creation of interactive dialogues for the processing interface of special objects by means of a small Thesaurus
  • Layout Table
    Simple table construction for complex contents: In opposite to the standard table (= data table) the special object 'layouttable' can display a sequence of any objects in column layout. Possible applications are e.g. typeset with marginal notes, complex list with graphics.
  • Peer Review
    This ZMS package allows structured peer reviewing for cooperative evaluation of texts, drafts, photos. Authors and media producer gain the opportunity to let their work results be evaluated and commented by an expert community before or after publication.
  • Mit ZMS schnell zum Wiki
    Ein 'Wiki' (von 'wikiwiki' hawaiianisch für 'schnell') verspricht dem Webautor die praktische Bearbeitung von Inhalten direkt auf der Webseite. Das Spezielle Objekt "wikipage" macht aus ZMS mit einem Klick ein Wiki.
  • ZMSMediaPlayer
    This ZMS-Add-On introduces a MediaPlayer to the ZMS-framework. A gallery is included to display images, for audio/video the JW PLAYERS (by jeroenwijering.com) are used.
  • ZMSMindMaps
    This ZMS-Add-on extends ZMS for viewing, exporting and importing of Mindmaps.
