Release Notes 24.04.2003: 1.3 Build #116 Patch E

- Bug in FTP/HTML-Export: missing language suffix in file-system (reported by T. Fox, www.foxnewmedia.biz) - Bug in XML Export: sFilename (reported and solved by D. Datzert, www.ThyssenKrupp.com) - Patch in CSS of management interface for Netscape Navigator 4.7x (reported by S. Hoffmann, Hoffmann&Reif Consulting) - New CSS-based TemplateSet-8 (submitted by S. Ebel) - Important: all references to search-form have to be changed from index_xxx.html to search_xxx.html!

17.04.2003: 1.3 Build #116 Patch D

Version since 17.04.2003 12:09: - minor bugfixes in the ZMS spec. obj. database - the default configuration of in the "more"-Link [<a%s>Mehr</a>] within a teaser object can be overwritten by the language-key HREF_MORE (requested by P. Ehrlich, infosion GmbH) - new filter option in the example database (requested by J. Schönfeldt, elseware) - patch for the thumbnail generation with PIL (reported by K. Rohrbach, webmonster.de) - processing of DTML inside cells of ZMS table objects is enabled (reported by J. Saleyka, tele-akademie der fh furtwangen)

07.04.2003: 1.3 Build #116 Patch B

Version since 07.04.2003 16:39: - Bug with immediate updating of pages in the cache - ZMS Spec. Obj. of type "Datatable" enhanced so that even images and files can be filed in the table. configuration adjustable, which fields are displayed in the table. - ZMS Spec. Obj. of type "Datatable" enhanced so that relations between datatables can be created. - when initialising a new ZMS instance an exemplary database can be generated

31.03.2003: 1.3 Build #116 Patch A

Version since 2003-03-31 11:58: - Bugfix: Bug when filing new passage formats. - Bugfix: Error when applying client-independent links. - Patch: For users not having the primary language (but secondary languages) languages elector in the editorial view is empty. - Patch: If an object (concrete an image) is changed into secondary language, some attributes (concrete the image alignment) is set back in the primary language. - Patch: In Mozilla ist was needed to choose for selectionlists-attribute always a value, the entry for no value was inactive. -New design of the icon bar for Sitemap, Search, Trash, System. -Spec. Obj. of type "data base" now completely implemented (also file and image allowed as attributes). -New TemplateSet7 "Plone-Like".

13.01.2003: 1.2 Build #110

[Metadaten / Spez. Objekte]
The development-lines for metadata and attributes spec. objekts are brought together further. The primitive attributea (string, text, int, etc.) now are equal and are internally treated equally, too .
For metadata now can be defined, whether it is about mandatory fields. For attributes spec. objekts can be defined, whether the atttribute is homo- or heterolingual.

[trash]
ZMS objekts first are moved to the trash when deleted. Only there they can definitively be removed from the system.

[version control]
For all ZMS objekts now one version control can be activated. This makes it possible to reset a ZMS object to a former version at any time. Multilingualism and workflow of course are considered.
Note: The ZMS version control is independent from the undo-funkcionality provoded by Zope, which transactions can be deleted with each zip of the ZODB.

[SuperRes-images]
For images now optionally a super-high resolution varaint SuperRes can be uploaded beneath the high resolution HighRes.

19.11.2002: 1.2 Build #103

[Configuration]
The configuration menue was completely revised. Now it can be set which ZMS objekts can be inserted via the action list. Furthermore portal construction now can be built with several ZMS instances. For this the portal master and/or the -clients can be defined.

[DTML]
Now in all object attributes DTML code can be used which is executed dynamically with the page reproduction (formerly only possible in texts).

[Bidirectional linking]
To make sure the consistency of links and transparency of all dependencies, the linking of ZMS objects now is bidirectional. Furthermore the new object "Link" was introduced. With links existing objects can be re-used at another place and embedded.

[Multilingualism]
Local contents penetrate into the dependent languages of the hierarchy and are within the obligatory contents implementable additionally. The coverage of the language now is definable for all objects (up to now only for Container-Objects).

[activiy]
For all objects now the activity can be driven thruogh the toggle and the activity period. The activity period now can be timed precisely (up to seconds).

[Templatesets]
With ZMS 1.2 a new templateset "Theme5" is delivered. This templateset contains the Drop-Down menues below the channel navigation. The former templatesets were updates to the state of ZMS-API and server as reference implentation of templatesets further on.

[Modules]
By default the modules "Forum" and "Newsletter" are now delivered with the ZMS download distribution on basis of ZMS Spec. Objects. The old forum on basis of ZUBB products is no longer supported.

[User maintenance]
The user maintenance was completed via the "Simple User-Folder" so that now any sources of user dates can be connected to ZMS (e.g. LDAP, databases, etc.). So via spec. objecst even ZMS itself can serve as source for user dates. More about this you can find at the Professional Services.

[Nesting of spec. objects]
Specail objects now can contain besides standard objects also other special objects; this allows to quickly configure very complex content constructs.

[Multilingualism]
On multilingual websites now the filename automatically is enhanced with the spezific language identification code (e.g. file.pdf -> file_eng.pdf). By this unambiguousness is ensured in case of equal filenames in diverse languages.

[Search]
It is now possible to search via the parameter search_meta_types:list for certain document types / spec. objects. More detailed description can be found in the API documentation.

[action]
Now individual actions can be defined to objects. The actions integrate themselves seamlessly into the ZMS management interface.

[API]
The function getNavElements is enhanced with the parameter expand_tree. By this it can be defined whether the complete tree wtih parents and siblings or only the parents of the current object itself are dispayed in the macro navigation. More infos at $ZMS_HOME/doc/API.txt.

[files]
Files (such like folders and documents) can be equipped with an activity period.

[Spec. Objects]

the keys to multiple-choice for Spec. Obj. attributes are now stated CR/LF separated instead of comma-separated which was usual up to now.
the attribute type HTML was removed. Instad of this type better text objects shall be used with the full HTML functionality.
the attribute types Image and File are newly added. By this not not absolutely image or file objecte must be used.
the creation of templates becomes easier with the DTML wizard: it copies the DTML code of single attributes to a clipboard, from where the code can be pasted with Strg+V at any place into the template.

[Std. objects]
The predefined ZMS standard objects (e.g. image, text) can be deactivated. By this it is possible to substitute standard objects completely by own spec. objects and to push high structured sites.
