ZMS 2.2 - The most important innovations

ZMS 2.2 will be released in the 3rd quarter of 2004; an up to date preview is published at sourceforge.net

ZMS 2.2 focusses completely on the newest Zope version 2.7 and along with that on Python 2.3. Besides the compatibility with Python 2.3 (introduction of the Boole´s type) a tangible peformance profit can be marked. For using the multilingualism of ZMS at its optimum, from ZMS 2.2 on all contents are maintained in Unicode format (UTF-8) only.

Teaser Fonts greater than before

In the css (Configuration->Design), in the /* Teaser */ sub section:
add "td.teaserText" (or replace) by "p.teaserText".

Umlaute (latin-1 chars) in interface elements are mixed up

Do not use chars from the latin-1 charset within the templates (e.g. äöü). Use HTML entities (ä, ...) or UTF-8 chars (can be configured in you browser locally)

Umlaute (latin-1 chars) in the print version are mixed up

Add a dtml method "standard_html_request" with these two lines:
   <dtml-call f_standard_html_request>
   <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-Type','text/html;
charset=utf-8')">
If this method exists (like in the ZMS eLC), just add the last line to the existing template.

dtml conditions evalute now to TRUE and FALSE, instead of 1 and 0 before. Code, that uses 0 or 1 to elegantly select classes or pictures, e.g. navMacroDoc0 or 1 does not work anymore.

Add some extra code to get from TRUE/FALSE to 0/1.
Replace i.e. i your macroNav:
