Berlin [SNTL]: In the beginning of June, a cooperation of medicines and IT service providers from Berlin launches a cost-free Content Management System specially developped for the use of clinics.

With „ZMS clinical“ a pre-configured Content Management System especially for medicine was delevopped. The system provides typical easy-to-use templates, with which each clinic without reference to its size may optimally present its variety of services in the internet or intranet.

At the ZMS clinical homepage the pre-configured website can be tested.

The system´s underlying efficiency-orientied publishing model is a result of many consulting projects conducted in the last three years by the consultants of the company Hoffmann+Liebenberg, Berlin with Content Management products for public health and common in the market. „Together with medical journalists, IT developers and web designers we optimized the system so that doctors and nursing staff can quickly integrate new information“, Martin Hermes, Executive Director of the editorial service KonTextGesundheit, says. „Content qualitity is the most important distinctive feature of a medical website; unfortunately technology-driven web projects in the past have often shown that project costs not neccessarily must go along with presentation quality“.

Performance for free licence costs

ZMS clinical´s product concept is characterized by an integratve approach of technological and editorial services. Intention is to provide a solid basis for building information structures customized for one´s office by using as efficiently as possible widespread basic open souce technologies like ZMS resp. the underlying application server Zope and XML techology. At this, an important role is played by technical expandability as well as by rapid competence building of the internal staff.
Project costs and runtimes are definitely reduced through standardized procedures for technical realization and the use of cost-free technology. Even the long-term service costs can be minimized by use of standard models. The roundabout way via external service providers is no more neccessary, and the quick skill adaptation is cost-saving and motivating for users.

Service in the network

ZMS clinical was developed by medicines for medicines. Focussing health care is an imprtant quality factor for the long-term success when using the techological solution. The partcipating service providers are distributed nation-wide and having their primary subject matter in medical science. The network provides a broad professional portfolio of consulting, training, system adaptation, operation and editorial performances:
