Each element type has a characteristic design (type size, font etc). The features of the element design is defined in an externally stored style sheet, with only a reference mark to this style sheet in the document itself: content and design are therefore administrated separately. That‘s why it is possible to let appear all documents modified using the corresponding stylesheet or rather the defined element just through one single modification of an element description in the style sheet.
In addition to the design of the typography, the layout is also important for the design of a site. The layout (which means the order of the elements on a site) is produced with the help of templates integrating both necessary site elements and site functions in one table.
